In honor of the best year yet to come, I have added to my RN player my cover of REASON TO BELIEVE (thank you Tim Hardin!), just me 'n' a fiddle sittin' round a mic, and also added the understated Reggae meditatation SOLID GROUND, with the hot hot sax solos. Enjoy y'all, One Love is Growing!

Dramatic Rock!

YES, it's another FAN EXCLUSIVE!!! The live version of the new hit DEVIL'S EYE from my album SCOTTY'S MOODY ALT-ROCK is now in my ReverbNation player on the Home/Music page here; for those on the list, you get to enjoy the whole thing. And you will dig it.

This is the fullblown all-out full-band LIVE version of the hard rock folk funk DEVIL'S EYE that I did in the studio, a cautionary tale that just rocks harder than my other stuff, and warns of powerful leaders and their motives . . . kind of harkens back to Jonestown, Marshall Applewhite and the whole idea of sacrificing yourself to a master outside yourself. Or something like that. But yeah, it rocks.

The weird thing is this was the first time the Band that played with me on RIVER CAN CRY and many many gigs, guitars, keys, drums, had ALL played together at the same time! Amazing performances from everyone, especially Guitar God Marcus Watkins and keyman Krister Axel (thank you!) really expand the song 'cause they both especially rock it out.

I just changed up the songs a bit in my superduperspecial 9-song radio station on RADIOLICIOUS.FM to include the new breakout hit HANDS FLAPPING LIKE WINGS - LIVE, a sheer lucky break of great performance and steady but sparse instrumentation which happened in a rehearsal room! Seems to be everyone's fave new REGGAE tune!

ALSO - just added some new music to my RN player (on my homepage, MySpace and at ReverbNation.com), including a FAN EXCLUSIVE (that means I need you to sign up for the list because, well, me need email addresses! me hungry!) of a gem from my first album with ace drummer Christopher Allis and harpman/guitarman Mannix O'Connor with my workday lament DOWN IN THE TRENCHES! Uh, dig it.

SONGMON HITS JAPAN! A Gojira (Godzilla here) in his own mind, Scotty Does Japan thru popular music site TopMusic.jp, which automatically determines if you're logging in from a computer or phone - then gives you the Scotty music you so desperately crave.

It's perfectly normal, hundreds of thousands of otherwise innocent Japanese youth are infected with this fever for Scotty-music. Zen priests in the holy city of Kyoto have been known to be unable to sit for meditation without a Scotty music fix. And I say, give the people what they want. Democracy in action. And so, when the people cry out as one for a Scotty webpage, who am I to stand in their way. Arigato gozaimasu, Nippon fans!

ReverbNation, Facebook

I have made it to the future. You're welcome.

Yes, I finally stepped into 2009 with a completely revised presence on Facebook, with links to the music and some old and new friends. I feel kinda like the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, a bit overwhelmed that so many social functions are now conveniently coded into one site. It's eerily good.

I also revamped my ReverbNation account, so I could bring y'all the music right when you land and no searching. It was a tough decision, because it can be annoying to have the music right there before you have a chance to take it all in--though it's easy to see and turn off--but I think most folks who visit my site want a quick impression or feel. ReverbNation or RN, as we affectionately call it (apologies to nurses), also helps me link together my different pages with info and music. Also amazingly sophisticated compared to most musician sites these days. My thanks and praise for those who went the extra mile to humanize their software and help the artist.

One Love and Jah Guide, my beautiful friends.
